History

Celebration in the Oaks is the New Orleans holiday tradition. It is one of the most spectacular holiday lights festivals in the country, with more than 135,000 visitors from around the world coming to the Park to see the magical winter spectacle. An annual tradition that began in the late 1980s, Celebration in the Oaks is a family-friendly event that spans over the course of 37 days.

New Orleans City Park

For over 170 years, New Orleans City Park, managed by City Park Conservancy, has provided access to abundant natural and cultural resources to residents of the region and tourists from around the world. The Park is home to the New Orleans Botanical Garden, Couturie Forest and Arboretum, the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Louisiana Children’s Museum, and the largest grove of mature live oaks in the world, some of which are nearly 800 years old. City Park Conservancy is a 501(c)3 nonprofit responsible for the care, upkeep and stewardship of the Park.
